Quiksilver Team surfer, Kelly Slater (USA), 38, past nine-time ASP World Champion, has taken out the 2010 Hurley Pro at Trestles, stop n°6 of ASP World Tour, in flawless six-foot (2 metre) waves over lethal Australian Bede Durbidge (AUS), 27.

This win, his fourth elite tour at Lower Trestles (2005, 2007, 2008 and 2010) and 43rd in his career, vaults Slater into the ratings’ lead in his hunt for an unprecedented 10th ASP World Title, one week before the Quiksilver Pro France, stop n°7 of ASP World Tour.

The 10th world title perspective is becoming more and more concrete for the Floridian who now has 4500 points advance on his young and talented rival Jordy Smith even if the 2010 season is far from being ended with 4 events to run.

Equal third in Trestles (with Mick Fanning), California’s Dane Reynolds is still in the 4th position but now gets closer and closer for the podium, becoming a constant threat for Australian Taj Burrow who now just has 250 points advance.

The world's elite surfers from men's professional surfing will land this week in France to compete in the Quiksilver Pro France, in world-class waves of Seignosse, Hossegor, Capbreton and Saint-Jean de Luz. The swell forecast is announcing a long swell for the beginning of the period and a possible early start of the contest. Quiksilver Pro France waiting period starts on Sept 25th till Oct 5th.
