At dreamly conditions and best „summercamp- t-shirt-atmosphere“, last saturday several snowboarders met for the „take off“of the 7th Chill and Destroy Tour, in the BETTERPARK EHRWALD.

At this SWATCH TTR World Snowboard Tour 3star event, they battled for prizes in kind and cash of 5.000 US $ worth.

More the 40 attendees found the way into the perfect shaped funpark in Ehrwald in austria. The setup includet a kicker-line with two almost 17m lentgh tables and a full bunch of very nice obstacles in the rail park.

Kids Category

In a really high class final, the Riders show off,as there was no tomorrow. Austrian kid PHILIPP KUNDRATITZ showed a nice fs 540 indy and a save railrun. For that he took the victory in the kids category. Second LINUS BIRKENDAHL from germany took second place with a bs 360 indy and some crazy jib tricks in the railpark. Third place went to austria again, as ROLAND HÖRTNAGL broke up injured after his first run. Get well soon, Rolnd...!

Mens Category

In the mens finale the riders showed really top class snowboarding. The only german hope – FRIEDL MAY scored 5th place with his best run, a bs 720 melon to fs 720 tailgrab at the kickers. DENIZ CHINEK took 4th place and got a 100 dollar check for it. All three guys on the winner plattform came from austria. PATRICK WOERLE (3rd place) snatched deaply into his trickbox and pulled a fs 720 indy to extremely slowly rotated bs rodeo 540 combo. This brought him 250 „dollar-bucks“ into his purse. Aesthetic dude RUDI KROELL, directly out of the famous „chiller-valley, was very happy about his second place and his pricemoney of 500 US dollar. So his best run (cab 900 indy to fs 720) was really worth it. The winner of the day was JANOSZ PIOTR, living in insbruck but coming form poland. He has proved, that either „slim pants“ make a favourable frame. And so, with lots of style, solid rail tricks and technical kicker snowboarding (best run: sw bs 720 indy to cab 720 indy), he was able to take the check of 1.000 US dollar back to his home.

Finally the Chill and Destroy take-off-event in Ehrwald was amazing. Best weather conditions, bad ass riders, huge funpark, very smart Liftguys and a hardly motivated CaD orga-team – these are the ingredients for a perfect contest day, which will be kept in mind for a long, long time...
