Winter is back and so is the „Quiksilver Wir Schanzen“ contest series

Last winter 411 participants at five stopps fought for the coveted overall-victory of the Quiksilver Wir Schanzen. And this year again, all snowboarders and freeskiers will be invited to show their skills at the events. New highlights will be set by the first edition of new tourstopps in Ischgl and Montafon. To get the Wir Schanzen 2010 back to your mind the overall-video of last year will be presented right now.

The preparations for the contest series are in full swing and you can be anxious about what innovations are about to come. In good old Wir Schanzen manner no event will be alike. Different slopestyle courses each with a characteristic setup will be ready for every riding level with various obstacles for snowboarders and freeskiers. Despite supra-regional presence the focus of the Wir Schanzen is on relaxed contest atmosphere so that the participants have the possiblity to shred the park and to present their skills. Not to forget the legendary parties which will traditionally be an inherent part of the tour. On board of the Wir Schanzen there is the title sponsor Quiksilver but also two new co-sponsors. Not only a great number of prizes of K2 Skis, Ride Snowboards and Activision - Tony Hawk Shred is waiting to be won, there is also a huge prize for the kids winning the overall ranking. The overall winners of ski and snowboard men can win a week at the Quiksilver Rainbow surfcamp in Moliets/France plus cool outfits. And what will the girls win? This is still a treasured secret.

How it works

The contests will be held in the categories ski and snowboard men, ski and snowboard women as well as ski and snowboard kids (U 16). The modus will be the same as last year: at five qualification events the riders can collect points for the overall ranking to snatch one of the highly sought-after tickets for the final. In addition snowboarders will fight again for Swatch TTR World Snowboard Tour ranking points. And this year freeskiers can look forward to a special highlight, too. At the final of the Quiksilver Wir Schanzen the German Championship in Slopestyle will be fought out.

In line with the Wir Schanzen you cannot only fight for the victory in the park at all tourstopps, but also on the virtual playground in the games lounge. At the game contest you can discover unlimited fun at skating and snowboarding by playing the new action video game „SHRED“ by Tony Hawk. Perform daredevil jumps, great grabs and impressive grinds just like the pros and cream off many cool prizes. But there is more to come – on all tour stopps there will be a Tony Hawk-rail in the park waiting to be shredded. This special obstacle will be raffled off at the end of the tour and the winner has the opportunity to place it in his favourite park. Participation pays off!
