    lets-talk-freestyle-wrapping-up-the-lohse-rampe-charity-event

The Lohse ramp in Cologne became a hot spot last weekend on Saturday for skaters and spectators. The charity event has one purpose only: Improve the ramp, which has given so many skaters and visitors the grounds to skate, BBQ, celebrate and have fun.

The day started off real chill, freestyle kind. Slowly the surrounding became real event stylish. Flags, banners, canopies, the sun and more and more people showed their faces. The beauty of the event lay in its chaos. One of the organizers doubted the punctual start of the skate contest from scratch on. This could have been due to him not finding pen and paper for the registration of the contestants.

The charm of this chaos was reflected in the faces of every one. Skaters were happy to practice for a while. Visitors hang out on the grassy hills having a good time on a lovely day. Finally, after a successful registration and with a tiny delay of about two hours the contest was about to start. Great beats and a good atmosphere pushed the riders to show their skills. One of the organizers could not get around participating in the contest as well - skateboarder at heart. The kids picked up the skills of the skaters and build their own little ramp downhill the grassy area on wood planks. Not so sure who had more fun.

As the day light faded and the evening started the contest was getting to its peek with the best skaters left. As organizer Sören already predicted Kevin showed once more that his wins in the last years were well-deserved. Rumor has it he did not even give his best since he did not want to humiliate the other skaters. Still, his skills were obviously so outstanding and brought him the victory once more.

The night proceeded with lots of party beats. Team Rhythmusgymnastik was going off with their Hardcore Asso party and the crowd had so much fun that the police eventually had to come to cut the event.

All in all the charm of the event was its chaos, its bad-ass skating, its nice people and vibes and of course its beautiful intentions. Let’s keep it up and give a big thanks to the people that pulled it all off. Hurray to the future of the Lohse ramp.
