Laura Enever (AUS) today claimed the Billabong Azores Islands Women's Pro presented by Nissan an Association of Surfing Professionals (ASP) sanctioned event.
Coming from behind in the last 5 minutes Enever claims her maiden ASP WQS victory here in the Azores. Sitting in a combination situation Enever fought back with a 9.17 out of a possible 10 then eventually found her backup score of 8.17 to turn the tables on Conlogue. Laura Enever finally took over the title with 17.34 points vs 13,80 for american surfer Courtney Conlogue.
The 18 years old Roxy girl achieved a fabulous tournament beating former World Champion Sofia Mulanovich (PER) in semis and Nage Melamed (HAW) in quarters.
The woman to beat
Ranked n°3 in the ASP Women's Workd Ranking, the current ASP Junior World Champion coming from North Narabeen is definitly a strong contender for the elite of woman surfing..
This win is her first one on a 6 stars WQS and gives a strong testimonial of her extraordinary talent.
Laura Enever will be the woman to beat at the upcoming ASP 6 Star Cabreiroa Surfing Girls in Pantin (Spain) from August 23 to 29.
