The origin and birth of skiing is so old that it is still a mystery. What we know though, is that the oldest ski ever found was about 8000 years old! It seems that skiing began as a means of transporting things and people across the snow. Most likely it was the Norwegians who eventually turned skiing into a sport. They discovered the fun in speeding down a hill, making turns and jumping off crazy hills, and since then many people from all over the world agree.
