    • How can I add a hotspot?
Make sure the hotspot you want to add does not exist yet. Then go to the group in which your hotspot belongs e.g. for a surf spot go to the group "surf". Click hotspots. On the left side navigation if you scroll down there is a button called "add spot". Click it. Find your hotspot on the map or enter valid latitude and longitude information. Enter a title and if you like other details about the spot. Click save.

    • What is "Local Hero" and how does it work?
You find "Local hero" in the left navigation of a sport's hotspot as well. If there is a person that really knows a spot well and is willing to be contacted for information about the spot he or she can become a local hero. If you want to become a local hero you have to go to the hotspot and click "I am a local hero" on the left navigation. You can always undo this feature by clicking "I am a local hero no more", which of course only appears if you activated the local hero application before.

    • How do I edit a hotspot?
Find the hotspot first. Once you found it click the edit button on the right hand side below the map or spot picture. Edit the information that you want to change and hit save.

    • What does a hotspot show me?
First you can see where in a country a hotspot or more hotspots for your sport exists. Also, you can check out if other hotspots are close-by. This counts for businesses as well, which will be shown in the list with their names and distance. That way if you look for services and products in the area of your hotspot you can find them there. You can check out images of the hotspot if there are any and see where exactly the spot is. Also you can see who already went to this spot, how they liked it and if a local hero exists at the spot you can ask him or her all kinds of questions.

    • What is "I was here" and how does it work?
You find "I was here" once you are on a hotspot. It appears in the left navigation. If you know this spot you can click the "I was here" button. Then you are moved to the blow ins list. This list shows how many people and who exactly went to the specific spot already.

    • How do I find a particular hotspot?
For each sport hotspots exist. Go to the sport of interest on the left navigation and click the hotspots button. Then a list will appear with all hotspots worldwide for that sport. You can use the sorting on the left to change the order. Also, you can use the filter on the left to specify your search. Once you chose your filter you have to hit the "apply" button to use the filter. The hotspots are in alphabetical order. Also, if you know the name of the hotspot you look for you can always use the "search" to look for it.

    • How do I add a shot to a hotspot?
You can get there two ways. 1. If you are on a hotspot detail page already you can see an add shot link on the left navigation. This will lead you into your "My Shots". 2. You can also go to your my shots directly and click on a photo that you want to add to a hotspot. Either way now you are in your shots and on the left navigation you will see "add to hotspot". Click on that. In the new window find your hotspot from the list or use the search entering the hotspot or a few letters of it. Once you found your hotspot either doubleclick on it or move it to the right window by clicking on the arrow in the middle. Now hit save. If you do not find the hotspot the photo belongs to please check if it already exists in the Addicted To Ride database. If not, you can of course create it.
