R.I.P. Sarah Burke.
Sarah was a pioneer and spokeswomen for her sport. It seemed that skis were an extension of her legs, she was so familiar on them. She won the gold medal at the Winter X Games four times and was a representative for adding halfpipe skiing to the Olympic program. In 2014 the sport will, for the first time, be included in the Olympics in Sochi. Sarah, of course, was to be a favorite for the gold medal.
Now, she will be truly missed. Nine days after an accident in the halfpipe of Park City, she died of her injuries.
For us she will always stay a pioneer. Our thoughts go out to her and her family. Rest in peace, Sarah.
